Technical Guidelines

Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts

  • NEW FOR 2008 The fee for abstract submission is $25.00. A portion of the submission fee will be rebated to you by providing you with a SETAC green meeting mug, a $20 value. To receive the mug:
    • You must complete your full meeting registration by October 4, 2008.
    • You must be present at the meeting in Tampa.
    • The green meeting mug can be used for free drinks during all poster socials throughout the Tampa meeting.
    • 1 per person with an accepted abstract (mug given to presenting author during registration packet pickup in Tampa
  • NEW FOR 2008 SETAC will withdraw your abstract only if we received written notification of your intent to withdraw by June 22, 2008. No refunds. Abstracts may not be changed or withdrawn once accepted by the Program Committee. If circumstances prevent your attendance, you must arrange for the paper to be given by a substitute. Acceptance of the abstract by the Committee obligates the author to present the paper.

1. Abstract must not promote a commercial product, process, or service.
2. Abstract should be clear and well written.
3. Authors should comply with instructions and deadlines provided with the call for abstracts.
4. The abstract should contain information and/or data that demonstrates that high quality science will be presented.
5. Information in the abstract should not have been previously published or presented.
6. Subject matter should be applicable to environmental toxicology and chemistry, including, but not limited to:
--Molecular and cellular biology as they relate to environmental toxicology and chemistry, hazard and risk assessment, and environment/human health related issues.
--Contributions to an understanding of ecological risk assessment and environmental hazards, including use and validation of mammalian models and systems.
--Ethical issues related to environmental toxicology and chemistry and risk assessment.
7. By submitting an abstract you are agreeing to abide by the SETAC code of conduct and understand that all presenters must pay for registration and attend the meeting.
8. There is a limit of 2500 characters for the text of your Abstract submission (title, authors, institutions, and body will be counted). You may have up to 10 authors and 10 affiliations.
